Hi friends!! A lot has happened this past week with our life plans. If you’ve been around for awhile you may have seen me talk about moving on my Instagram. We have been planning to move from Ventura County to Idaho in January for nearly a year now. To sum it all up; we will be moving to the Treasure Valley in less than a week by the time you see this.
Naturally this changes a lot about my photography business, so I want to go over the most important questions you as my returning or future client may be asking:
Will you be accepting wedding + elopement bookings in California still?
Absolutely! All this really means for new wedding/elopement bookings is a travel fee will be implemented. But it will be discounted from my usual travel fee (if it’s in the Ventura County or close) because I have a place to stay there. I want to make it ever so clear that I am still happily booking weddings in California (and other places too) despite us moving. In fact, since most of my family is still in California I love any chance I get to visit and I am thrilled to shoot a wedding back where I grew up!
What does that mean for my returning clientele in SoCal?
If you are one of my local return clients- first off I friggin love you & thank you for everything- this means that my availability is very limited now. I will be traveling home already a few times this year that I know of, some for personal reasons and others for this lovely job of mine. If I have availability I will post about it on my Instagram so be sure not to go anywhere. <3
When will I be accepting clients in Idaho?
First off, I want to say that I’m soooo very excited to start shooting as soon as we get settled in. I want to give myself two solid weeks to just settle into our new place, get organized and adjust to the new lifestyle (also need to scout for more shoot locations when I arrive) before taking any clientele. So I will be accepting shoots starting mid February. If you’re interested, you don’t need to wait until then to reach out – I will make time to respond, I just also want to communicate that I may take longer than my usual 24 hr or less response time. 🙂
And just so you know, my books are open for 2024 for weddings, elopements & couples sessions. I also do documentary/lifestyle family photography!
When will you be in the Ventura County this year?
As of now I know I will be in town:
- Late Feb/Early March
- Early April
- Late April/early May — I will be extra busy this trip.
I don’t have specific dates yet, I will be posting those on my Instagram account so if you’re interested make sure you’re following me for updates. I also will always have my general travel schedule up on my website.
Are you moving back?
Some of you know that we already lived in Idaho for a year (and absolutely loved it). We moved back because of a family situation, and looking back I see the Lords hand in it all. We really needed to move back home. We are up on our feet now and we are excited to be back in Idaho, although we will deeply miss all our loved ones here.
That being said, no, Lord willing- we have no plans of moving back.
To all my past & current clients,
Thank you for trusting me to tell your story and for being so wonderful to work with. I have done literally hundreds of shoots, and I have truly enjoyed each one of them & have loved getting to know you all. I’m convinced I have the best clientele in the world.
With that being said – your feedback means the world to me. I want to know what I did well and where I can improve. With me moving to a new state and in a way rebuilding, it would mean so so much to me if you would Like and/or leave me a review on my Facebook page (Haley Benton Photography). I finally made a new photography page this year after neglecting my old one for far too long, and it needs some lovin’.
Because of you I get to do what I love, and I cannot put into words how amazing that makes me feel. You guys rock. Thank you so much.
XOXO,
Haley. 🙂
